INTERNATIONAL. As NY Times bestselling author John Naisbitt and Doris Naisbitt put it aptly in their new book Mastering Megatrends: Understanding and Leveraging the Evolving New World, published by World Scientific, the complexity of change needs to be managed.

As Doris and John Naisbitt show, it is a one thing to identify trends and another thing to deal and leverage trends.

Based on the Naisbitt’s global research and extensive travel, Mastering Megatrends updates its readers on major trends that are shaping our world today and in the decades to come. It introduces the “new world order” in which the dominance of the West is coming to an end.

The United States can no longer claim hegemony and a role as helmsman of the global community. Its global authority is challenged and so is its leading position in science and technologies.

Mastering Megatrends also deals with the overarching megatrends of digitalization and globalization that are influencing and amplifying all other trends.

The authors demonstrate that the first step to leverage opportunities is to take down barriers, such as obsolete mindsets and unchallenged mainstream thinking. That is true for personal as well as in professional goals. To master megatrends includes developing a personal news navigation system to evaluate information and support mindsets based on realistic perspectives.

The book highlights that to leverage the opportunities of the transition one must understand its players and alliances. It guides readers on mastering their thoughts in the light of these changes and perspectives.

Mastering Megatrends: Understanding and Leveraging the Evolving New World will be sold at all major bookstores and retails at US$29.95 / £26.
