UAE. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars announced today that the company has achieved a solid first half in the Middle East, with sales increasing by 22% regionally, compared with the same period in 2011.

Saudi Arabia in particular has maintained an exceptional growth from the first quarter, with the UAE, Qatar, and other markets achieving robust growth rates individually, all fuelled by remarkably high demand for Ghost models and a sustained demand for Phantom.

The performance can be attributed in part to the continued success of Ghost and Ghost Extended Wheelbase models, supported by the personalisation possibilities available from the company’s Bespoke programme.

Bespoke has witnessed the most uptake from Middle East customers , with two-tone, a bespoke Ghost option offered for the first time this year on the less formal model, proving an attractive feature for their tastes.

Commenting on the strong results, Geoff Briscoe, the recently appointed Regional Director, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Middle East, Africa and Latin America said: “We are proud that our dealers have excelled in their individual markets. The region’s sales performance reflects the marque’s commitment to its customers, and also highlights the level of luxury and personalised refinement that our customers seek.” He continues, “This has also been evident through the orders for Phantom Series II, which has recently debuted in the region and is currently undergoing customer trials.”

The Phantom Series II was first launched in the Middle East on the 27th of June in Abu Dhabi. The Phantom Series II family of cars – including Phantom Saloon, Phantom Extended Wheelbase, Phantom Drophead Coupé and Phantom Coupé – have been thoughtfully updated with contemporary yet timeless design enhancements that frame the introduction of cutting-edge technologies which significantly improve the car’s drive-train, ease-of-use and connectivity.

A striking new front-end design, starting with re-styled bumpers, and completed by rectangular light apertures that now feature world first full-LED headlamps as standard. New driver assistance technologies include a modern user interface with re-designed multi-media controller and 8.8 inch display with enhanced resolution.

The interior seating arrangement has been subtly improved for rear passengers, a new slightly raised position allows for a better view outwards, but does not compromise the sumptuous comfort that is synonymous with Phantom.

Behind the scenes, a new 8-speed automatic gearbox and rear differential complement the V12 direct injection engine which perfectly retains Phantom’s signature waftability and improve fuel consumption by 10 per cent as a consequence.
