UAE. The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a global management consulting firm, has recently announced the promotion of two of its Principals to Partners as part of its ongoing expansion in the Middle East.

In their new roles, Hermann Riedl and Dr. Alexander Türpitz will draw upon their vast international experience in Technology, Media, Telecommunications (TMT) and the Public Sector, respectively, to further strengthen BCG’s business in the region.

Joerg Hildebrandt, Partner and Managing Director and Head of BCG’s Middle East operations commented: “Hermann and Alexander bring a wealth of experience to their new roles as Partners at BCG. Both gentlemen have been with BCG for many years, and we believe that this development will further enable them to augment BCG’s business offering. The Middle East is a key focus area for the firm, and we will continue to support leading thinkers in the industry in line with our commitment to be the advisor of choice for Middle East businesses.”

Hermann Riedl was previously the CEO of telecoms provider TELE2 Germany, where he led the transformation from voice telephony to broadband. As of 2008, Hermann joined BCG to support the development of BCG's TMT business, initially in the Athens office and in the Middle East since 2010. Hermann holds a business degree from the University of Nürnberg and the Ecole Superieure de Commmerce de Clermont.

Dr. Alexander Türpitz joined BCG's German office in 2000 and has since worked across Europe, US and Asia. He is a core member of BCG's Operations, Industrial Goods and Public Sector practices. Since 2008, he has been based in the Dubai office, working mainly on economic development and public sector engagements in the Middle East region with a strong focus on Saudi Arabia. Alexander holds a PhD in physics as well as an MBA from INSEAD.
