SAUDI ARABIA. With fast evolving technological advancements which have trapped us and had a definite impact on many aspects of our everyday lives, people have become less dependent on traditional means used in promoting awareness on issues related to the economic, social, educational, medical, and other fields.

We all have now come to realize the importance of written, audio, and visual media and the great role it plays in making information available for all age groups across different societies. However, the extent to which technological advances are involved in communication and public awareness campaigns is quite small when compared to their huge potential.

For most of us, the uptake of state-of-the-art smart devices consistently ranks as a top priority, given that such e-application supporting gadgets are becoming increasingly widespread in our societies.

Unfortunately, the use of these applications in the Arab world has been mostly confined to entertainment-related domains, and no serious efforts have been made to optimize technologies in awareness-raising programs that serve the human infrastructure in societies.

On the other hand, smartphone softwares can be adapted by the companies working in the field, making them an optimal environment for formulating applications targeted to diverse age groups and able to function as a more efficient, changeable substitute for conventional means used in public awareness campaigns.

What’s more, these applications are characterized by being user-friendly and cost-effective, given the incredible role and impact these techniques play in advancing awareness among a wide range of people.

Bearing these features in mind, companies and organizations are prompted to conduct community awareness programs while keeping pace with current and emerging technology trends and taking into consideration the changing needs of the present generation.

As smartphones are riding a wave of popularity and application development companies are quickly spreading in the region, there should be no room for lame excuses for not taking the initiative and starting electronic public awareness campaigns.
