UAE. Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE:JLL), the global financial and professional services firm specializing in real estate, has been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute as one of the “World’s Most Ethical Companies for 2012”. This is the fifth consecutive year that Jones Lang LaSalle has been named to the list by Ethisphere, an international organization dedicated to best practices in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, anti-corruption and sustainability.

In a related achievement, Mark Ohringer, the firm’s Global General Counsel and Chief Ethics Officer, was selected by Ethisphere as one of the “World’s 100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics for 2011”. In addition to the articles he has published on ethics and governance topics, Ethisphere recognized Ohringer for his work with the firm’s strategic consulting professionals and Ethisphere to develop an interdisciplinary business-related study entitled “The Influence of Workplace Design and Practices on the Ethical Environment.” Mark discusses workplace ethics in a video about the study.

“Our commitment to business ethics is an integral part of the culture at Jones Lang LaSalle,” said Colin Dyer, Chief Executive Officer of Jones Lang LaSalle. “The most talented people want to work for, and clients want to work with, companies they trust. Our Board of Directors and Global Executive Committee commend the efforts of our worldwide team of Ethics Officers and the dedication of all of our people around the world whose integrity distinguishes Jones Lang LaSalle every day. It is particularly appropriate that Mark was recognized for his role in leading the firm’s ethics programs for nearly a decade.”

“Our relationship with our clients and staff is one that is based on trust, and our commitment to business ethics is the key building block to achieving that. I am very proud to see the firm recognised again as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies” says Alan Robertson, CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle MENA.

Through in-depth research and a multi-step analysis, Ethisphere reviewed nominations from companies in more than 100 countries and 36 industries. The methodology for the World’s Most Ethical Companies includes reviewing codes of ethics; litigation and regulatory infraction histories; evaluating investments in innovation and sustainable business practices; looking at activities designed to improve corporate citizenship; and studying nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers and customers.

“Each year the competition for World’s Most Ethical Companies intensifies as the number of nominations submitted for consideration grows,” said Alex Brigham, Executive Director of Ethisphere. “This year’s winners know that a strong ethics program is a key component to a successful business model, and they continue to scrutinize their ethical standards to keep up with an ever-changing regulatory environment. Ethisphere congratulates Jones Lang LaSalle on being one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for 2012.”
