INTERNATIONAL. The billionaire new owners of Harrods appeared to be going nowhere fast after their supercars were clamped outside the central London store.

The £1.2 million (US$1.9 million) Koenigsegg CCXR and £350,000 (US$550,000) Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce, both in light blue - believed to be owned by the Qatari ruling family - were illegally parked outside the Knightsbridge shop last week.

Qatar Holding group, which in April bought Harrods from Mohamed al Fayed for £1.5 billion, is led by the Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al-Thani.

A Harrods spokesman said: "Any matters relating to parking tickets and enforcement are strictly the domain of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea."

One of the cars - a 249mph Koenigsegg - is one of only six ever made, while only 350 of the Lamborghinis were built.
