UAE. Dubai Sports Council is preparing to participate with double presence in Sportex 2009, the premier international event for the sports, fitness, health and leisure industry in the Middle East, as countdown begins to the exhibition.

Together with their own stand, Dubai Sports Council, focusing on the promotion of sporting activities and education about health, fitness and physical activity in the UAE, a second stand will promote HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Awards

Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, rallying ace Mohammad Bin Sulayem, football coach Mehdi Ali and jockey Ahmad Al Ketbi (Ajtebi) were among the recipients of the first Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Awards announced in October with the award ceremony to be held to coincide with Sportex.

Ahmad M Al Rahoomi, Director of Corporate Communication & International Relations for the Dubai Sports Council commented:

‘We consider Sportex to be an ideal platform to meet qualified visitors; those with an interest in sports and sporting equipment, as well as the promotion of sports, leisure, health and fitness.

The Dubai Sports Council is not just about financing clubs, it holds amongst its aims the mandate to educate everyone about sports, encourage people to become more physically active and encourage the young generation to become involved in all sports and sporting activities.’

Sportex Middle East offers an exclusive event focused on this burgeoning market segment, providing a perfect platform for the launch of new products to a targeted audience.

Exhibitors at Sportex 2009 will include camping and outdoor equipment, fitness equipment and accessories, indoor sports equipment, Nutrition, track and field sports equipment, shoes and apparels, and sport stadium facilities.

Sportex 2009 is supported by the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI), a world authoritative body for the sports industry and officially recognized by the IOC.

The exhibition will take place from December 6 - 8 at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 11 am to 7 pm daily.
