INTERNATIONAL. GBN (Global Business Network) is an international business development company specialised in the Gulf region. Based in Luxembourg since 2002, Ben de Seille and François-Xavier Depireux, both accredit experts have been travelling in the Middle East for many years now. These business trip have enabled them to accumulate experience on countries such as Saudi Arabia, United Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait, that are becoming major characters on the international business radar.
The business network, GBN, as it has become established in the Gulf under Ben de Seille, has accomplished and managed some important meetings of key characters such as HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, HH Prince Abdullah Bin Faisal Bin Turki from Saudi Arabia as well as President of SAGIA.
With his expertise, Ben de Seille has been leading many debates and conferences about the Gulf region in many European countries, for example for several business clubs and associations. This was the case, for instance, a couple of months ago in the French Senate in Paris.
The company says many European companies have a keen interest in the Arab world, having noticed for the last ten years a boom in regional construction, healthcare or even IT. The GBN expertise allows the team to assess companies and adapt their strategy for a success in the Gulf.
However, it remains a fact that many business ideas in Europe do not exist in the Gulf yet. Then, as a business development consultant, Ben de Seille draws attention to the potential that these new businesses have in the region and the role of GBN is to introduce to many Arab groups a new business opportunity according to their new investment strategy.
As an example, GBN has a strong experience in Europe as a franchise hunter. Indeed, by having its headquarters in Luxembourg for more than six years, a city located in the middle of Europe, GBN has developed a stong network with business contact from all the fields.
Because the consulting agency claims to know the European market as well as the Gulf market, de Seille and Depireux said they are ready to help Arab firms to find the best partners to launch and implement new businesses.
De Seille commented: "We are living in dangerous times. The markets are way down and most companies in Europe have serious issues. The whole economy in Europe is idling and there are serious fears about recession. Europeans firms are looking for new markets even with the crisis; they are trying to bounce and boost their activities
Depireux elaborated on some of the interesting Middle East opportunities for European firms.
"Hundred of new business ideas would perfectly fit in with the needs of today’s Arab consumer," he said, "including infrastructure, IT, engineering industries, franchisee or luxuries. These are some of the fields that still needs some improvement.
"A lot of Arab groups already have a strong structure in defined sectors and they are ready to develop new business lines closely linked to their existing core business."
"We love to be pragmatic," said de Seille. "Our deep know-how of the market allows us to rapidly evaluate the potential matching between a business opportunity and an adequate business partners readiness to venture effectively. And many beautiful things still have to be done.
