INTERNATIONAL. FVC has been appointed as an authorised Value Added Distributor (VAD) for the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region for Riverbed Technology, the IT infrastructure performance company for networks, applications, and storage. Riverbed provides a comprehensive wide area network (WAN) optimization solution that enables enterprises to share applications and data with LAN-like speed across the WAN.

K S Parag, Managing Director of FVC, said: "We understand how important it is for organisations to provide their employees with quick and easy access to files and data regardless of where they are located. The Riverbed family of WAN optimisation solutions delivers business value for our partners and customers and is a perfect fit within our portfolio of networking solutions."

Mohammed Karzazi, Regional Sales Director MEA at Riverbed said: "The Middle East is a geographically diverse region where enterprises rely on networks to facilitate collaboration between employees. This agreement will enable FVC to offer a complete WAN optimization solution that accelerates applications and data, enables IT consolidation without performance compromise, and dramatically shortens backup and replication times. All of this while cutting costs across the entire IT infrastructure."

FVC will distribute Riverbed award-winning WAN optimization solutions which can improve application performance across the network by up to 100 times, and can simultaneously reduce bandwidth utilisation by 65% to 95%.

"Our core value-add is to leverage our experience of the WAN optimisation business in the region," said Guru Prasad, General Manager for FVC Networking and Security Division.

"Our partner strength, on the ground presence and key customer relationships in enterprises with large data centres and WAN networks will help us to deliver the Riverbed solution to customers looking to reduce IT costs and improve user performance."
