JORDAN. Television fans overloaded with options, who can’t seem to figure out what’s on which channel and when, now have a solution: a free online Arabic television guide called ShooFeeTV.

The user-friendly website, newly launched online at Shoofeetv.com brings together the best of television. A grid slowly scrolls across the screen, allowing viewers to check by time, which programs will be on the 120 most popular channels, carried by NileSat and ArabSat.

The site recognizes which country a user is located in, and automatically sets the programming grid to local time. The result is no more confusion trying to add and subtract hours for users across the Arab world’s four time zones.

For the first time in the Arab world, the region’s channels are centralised into one Arabic website for viewers to make the most of their television experience. ShooFeeTV also features:

Selected Programmes: ShooFeeTV’s independent editorial team highlights the day’s best programming, as well as the 'Most Popular' feature that ranks user hits.

Programme Information: Want to know more about a program or a movie? Click on the title and find out who stars in it, what kind of programme or movie it is and much more.

Who’s Who: A huge database of entries of Arab and foreign actors and actresses, the films and programmes they have acted in, and awards they have won.

Channel Information: This option allows viewers with a click to find out more about a channel and its programming.

Photos and Videos: Photos and videos from the world of television that users can view and exchange with friends.

Podcast: The three-minute podcast takes viewers to the week ahead, highlighting upcoming movies, sports events and television shows. The podcast will also be available on iTunes.

My ShooFeeTV: Users can log on and create their own listings grid featuring their favorite channels, so they never miss a show. User-generated content: ShooFeeTV users can add comments, vote in weekly entertainment polls and participate in discussion forums available on the site.

News: Short news features generated by the ShooFeeTV team provide more insight and information about popular programmes.

Besides television listings, other parts of the website feature discussion boards, television-related blogs and a database that already has more than 100,000 Wikipedia-style entries pertaining to all things entertainment.

ShooFeeTV is a multi-faceted website that looks to encompass the best and most interesting news and programming into one easy-to-use site.
