INTERNATIONAL. Google has launched its popular blogging service, Blogger, in Arabic, enabling Arabic-language users around the world to connect, express themselves, and participate in one of the biggest Internet trends today.

Blogger provides a simple, yet powerful medium for people all over the world to share their opinions and ideas with the millions of people online today. Blogger is a platform that allows any internet user to start, customise and update their own blog. In a few simple steps, anyone on the internet can begin blogging, and upload images and videos to their blog. Posting is easy, and bloggers can get comments from their readers in an immediate, easy interaction.

With this beta launch of Blogger, Arabic-speakers will now be participating in a huge and growing community. The product will continue to improve over the coming year.

“We’re really excited to be launching blogger in Arabic," said Siobhan Quinn, Product Manager at Google. “Blogger’s always been about allowing people to communicate, connect with each other, and share ideas in an easily accessible way; it’s great to bring this platform to this community.”

Google also announced today that it will be the official sponsor of Blogotour in Morocco www.blogotour.com and the Morocco Blog Awards www.marocblogawards.com

Blogotour is a five-day conference targeted at all Moroccans interested in blogging. A team of experienced bloggers will be touring five Moroccan cities to share their blogging passion and experience with the conference attendees.  A series of workshops will be held in each city in order to discuss various blogging topics and platforms. The tour will culminate with an awards ceremony, where blogging prizes will be awarded in 17 different categories. Readers can vote for the winners on the Morocco Blog Awards website.

“It's great to reach out to the Arabic-language community with the launch of Blogger in Arabic," said Yasmina Brihi, Marketing Manager for Middle East and North Africa.

"Working with Blogotour is a great fit for us, because both Blogotour and Google are interested in fostering the growth of the Arabic-language blogging community. There's a great deal of interest in and excitement about blogging in Arabic on the Internet, as this tour shows.”
