UAE. Total community healthcare services have arrived in Dubai with the official opening of the Medicine Shoppe Arabia flagship store at the Dubai Healthcare City.

Spanning a total of 5,700 square feet, in the Al Razi building, this first store was officially inaugurated by HE. Humaid Al Qutami, Minister of Health, United Arab Emirates, in the presence of other health officials and dignitaries, and Dr. Mehdi Al Hassani, Managing Director of Al Zahrawi Group, which holds the master franchise rights to Medicine Shoppe pharmacies in the GCC.

Commenting on the occasion, HE Humaid Al Qutami said: "Medicine Shoppe pharmacy's arrival in Dubai is a timely one. It is aligned with the long term vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai for the UAE to become a regional health and medical hub. And given the region's increasingly sophisticated consumers, we are confident that its unique concept of offering counseling and personalised care will be positively embraced by residents throughout the Middle East."

Marc Antoine Zora, Executive Manager, Medicine Shoppe Arabia, said: "Medicine Shoppe pharmacies connect with local communities by developing personalized relationships and making our customers' health a priority. Our 100% healthcare focus and attention on bringing higher patient care into the lives of our customers will certainly revolutionise the way people monitor their health needs and receive their medication."

As part of its debut into the UAE, Medicine Shoppe Arabia is adopting a unique four-week promotional campaign for customers and the public, whereby a complimentary selection of products and services will be offered, ranging from first aid kits, Body Mass Index measurement, blood pressure measurement, skin care tips and samples and blood glucose screening.

Bruce Burnett, Vice President of Medicine Shoppe International said; "Given the evolving health requirements of the cosmopolitan communities of the Middle East, and Dubai in particular, we truly believe that Medicine Shoppe pharmacies will be at the fore front in providing expert and personalised healthcare to all. Today is indeed a major corporate milestone in the history of Medicine Shoppe International as it marks a successful market entry in a new region in our international expansion plans."

Medicine Shoppe Arabia, a fully-owned subsidiary of Al Zahrawi Group, which is the master franchisee in the Middle East for Medicine Shoppe International, manages the pharmacy chain's operations and growth in the region.

Along with this flagship store at the Dubai Healthcare City, four other Medicine Shoppe Arabia stores have also opened their doors in Dubai Outlet Mall, Dubai Marina, Al Barsha 1 and Al Barsha 2 areas.
