DP World talks progressing with Algerian port authorities

INTERNATIONAL. President of Dubai Ports World (DP World) and CEO of Port and Free Zones Jamal Majid bin Thaniah has expressed the company's willingness to negotiate with Algerian authorities on the issues pertaining to the privatisation of container terminals at Port of Algiers.

The ambitious programme is aimed at developing the port into an economic hub and a gateway to Europe and America.

In a statement made yesterday at the Algerian capital, Thaniah said the negotiations between Dubai Ports and the Algerian Ministries of Transportation and Investment Promotion have made headway and a partnership agreement is likely to be signed before the end of this month.
