UAE. In its endeavour to boost the adoption of broadband internet in the UAE, Etisalat announced yet another unprecedented offer for its Al Shamil customers. Etisalat Al Shamil customers can experience an even higher internet access at no additional cost.

During the offer period, customers can upgrade their speeds, for two months, and experience the enhanced value offered by high speed internet, especially for popular applications like music downloads, YouTube, online gaming and audio and video streaming. Customers can avail this offer beginning from September 2 November 30

During the offer period, Al Shamil package subscribers can upgrade to any higher speed and enjoy it for two months, without any additional fees. For upgrade to highest speeds of 8Mbps and 16Mbps, customers will require FTTH (Fibre to the Home) connectivity.

Post the offer period, customers can choose to either continue with the higher speed packages, (chargeable from the third month onwards), selectively upgrade their speeds from the various available packages or revert to their existing package, depending on their upgrade experience and requirements.

Customers can inquire about their FTTH connectivity by visiting any business centre and they can upgrade their existing packages by calling 101 or visiting any Etisalat sales office.

Announcing this offer, Khalifa Al Shamsi, Acting Chief Marketing Officer, Etisalat said, “Internet today has become more of an Interactive medium of communication, than just a means to stay connected.

Today customers use Internet not just for traditional applications like email and browsing the internet, they also like to use this medium for the uploading photographs, music and movie downloads, networking on community centric portals like facebook and YouTube, for which they require seamless connectivity and higher speeds.  Etisalat, with this offer, is enabling its customers to experience and enjoy the higher internet speed.”

“Online gaming, for example, is one such distinct application, where customers can enjoy games with low network latency and faster speed and hence get a smoother online experience.”

Al Shamsi invited all Etisalat Al Shamil customers to benefit from this offer. “Etisalat has been at the forefront of the broadband revolution and will continue its efforts of increasing the broadband penetration and usage in the UAE.

Our efforts and contribution is evident with UAE being ranked as the top Arab country, and 27th globally, with respect to network infrastructure readiness, out of 184 countries.  (As per the network readiness index – global information and technology report.)
